Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan

This is an awesome book series. But before you read it, I recommend you should read the Percy Jackson stories by Rick Riordan first. If you don't read it, then you won't get half the plot. If you don't know what the Percy Jackson books in order, I'll tell you now:
  1. Lightning Thief
  2. Sea of Monsters
  3. Titan's Curse
  4. Battle of the Labyrinth
  5. Last Olympian

The Heroes of Olympus series is the sequel of the Percy Jackson series and they all have different point of views including Percy Jackson's.  Order:

  1. Lost Hero
  2. Son of Neptune
  3. Mark of Athena
  4. House of Hades
  5. Blood of Olympus

The book is based on mythology (Greek/Roman) that sets in the modern world. There are people who are demigods (half human, half god) and a Great Prophecy stating that 7 of them would have to save the world from a very evil, bad guy.

There are deaths, monsters, prophecies and many more. Expect a cliff-hanger or two. :P You learn interesting Greek and Roman mythology that can be used for future studies.

What I like the most is the author's writing style and the characters in the series. He portrays each character differently, each having talents, flaws, and what it's like being a hero at a young age. Each character swap (different POV) from one character to another is confusing at first, but then it gets easier as you get to experience their troubles, their thoughts, their personality, and their backstory.

I recommend the series to boys and girls. I recommend the series to readers who like  fantasy, humour, and action. Each book has about 500+ pages so like me, a reader that loves ginormous books than this is the one for you.

These books you can never put down. It captivates you and is just awesome. :-)
